In this series of three articles about Greenfield Plantation that appeared in the Fincastle Herald in 1995 author Bob Willis describes the history of the land and the people who settled it. The first article focuses on the pre-colonial and colonial history of the area as well as the artifacts that have been found at Greenfield. The second tells the story of the acquisition and settlement of the land by William Preston, and the third tells the story of Robert Bowyer Preston, the last of the descendants of William Preston to live at Greenfield. |
